I have extensive practical experience in a wide range of human rights and international issues having worked in or related to over 30 countries. I have worked as an NGO advocate attempting to induce governments and other powerful entities to change their policy; as a UN official attempting to prevail upon governments to recognize their lack of compliance with international standards and to facilitate change; and as an advisor to governments attempting to conform their practice to international law.  I have been involved in a significant number of capacity building and educational projects that have been designed to increase the level of compliance with human rights standards.
